I happened to stumble upon this novel at my local library. I walked by the teen section and saw that it was displayed by staff recommendations. I read the summary and thought I’d give it a try. I'm glad that I did because right from the beginning it hooked me. I always love to read characters that are different and Fredricka (Fred) is definitely a character that doesn’t compare to others. It’s not filled with scorching sex scenes, like the usual romance novels I read, but it’s about so much more. As a minority I found myself having some sort of bond with Fred. I also liked how Fred and Ryan’s relationship progressed. This is a must read!
Get Hooked on a Girl Named Fred...
When Native American Fredricka 'Fred' Oday is invited to become the only girl on the school's golf team, she can't say no. This is an opportunity to shine, win a scholarship and go to university, something no one in her family has done.
But Fred's presence on the team isn't exactly welcome --especially not to rich golden boy Ryan Berenger, whose best friend was kicked off the team to make a spot for Fred. But there's no denying that things are happening between the girl with the killer swing and the boy with the killer smile...
