Grind: A Legal Affairs Story by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I received this ARC of Grind: A Legal Affairs Story by Sawyer Bennett in exchange for an honest review.
In the second installment of A Legal Affairs Story Macy and Carl have a purely physical relationship. While Cal wants more to their relationship Macy still doesn't want to involve feelings. Will Cal break down her walls and finally be able to get what he wants?
Sawyer Bennett certainly bumped up the heat in this novel. The intimate scenes kept getting hotter and hotter as Cal and Macy explored each other’s fantasies. I’m always impressed with the authors writing when it comes to those scorching scenes.
I was expecting to find out more details on Macy’s secret but was left in the dark again. Besides Cal and Macy’s struggles in defining their relationship I thought there wasn't much progressing in the plot but I’m looking forward to finding out how it ends in Yield, the last installment.

I received this ARC of Unbound - Colours of Love by Kathryn Taylor from Bastei Entertainment through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
When Grace arrives in London she is greeted by Jonathon, the owner of the company where she will be working as an intern. She introduces herself only to find herself in an embarrassing situation when she finds that he really isn't there to pick her up but waiting for an associate of his.
Jonathon shocks everyone when he offers Grace a chance to work alongside him for her internship. When their relationships crosses into uncharted territory will Grace obey the expectations and restrictions that Jonathan has in place?
This is an Erotica suited for mature readers.
As soon as I started reading this novel I couldn't seem to put it down. The plot hooked me and I wasn't going to stop reading, especially when she thought Jonathon was there to pick her up. Grace and Jonathon are great characters which I enjoyed getting to know. The author did an amazing job of making them as real with her writing. Their chemistry was spot on and their intimate encounters were hot. At the end I was left in suspense but I expected it since this is a series. I will definitely be on the lookout for more novels from this author.
I give Unbound - Colours of Love 4 out of 5 stars.
Kindle Price: $4.61
I received this ARC of Breaking Noah by Missy Johnson and Ashley Suzanne from Random House Publishing Group – Loveswept through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Zara had already planned on transferring to Northwestern, when her cousin Karly committed suicide. Zara believes that one of Karly’s professors was the reason for her cousins’ death. She wants revenge and plans to enroll in his class, seduce him and ruin his life. When she meets Noah, she realizes it’s going to be harder to stick to her plan when he is young, gorgeous and feels a connection to him.
The plot is interesting with some unpredictable moments. I like being surprised with the progression of a novel and this novel got me at times. Zara and Noah truly were great characters which I felt had incredible chemistry. Individually they were well developed characters who progressed within the story-line as it should be. This is the first novel I've read from these two authors but I will be looking to see what else they have available now and in the future. You can follow them on twitter: @MissycJohnson @ItsAshleyYo
I give Breaking Noah 3 out of 5 stars.
Expected publication: May 12th 2015 by Loveswept
I received this ARC of Rush by Gina Gordon from Random House Publishing Group – Loveswept through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Rush is a romance novel and definitely suited for a mature audience.
While Max Levin, casting director for a porn production company, conducts a casting meeting with two potential prospects he meets Everly Parker. Everly is a law student with set goals for her future. When her late grandmother leaves a bucket list for her to complete she doesn't even know where to begin. Max is more than willing to help her with the list and open her mind to new ideas. What Max wasn't counting on was that he would question his own future of inheriting a porn empire.
Gina’s characters had great chemistry which came across in her spicy scenes. With the plot centering around a porn industry, it needed to have more erotic scenes and Gina certainly delivered. Yet it still managed to convey the growing romance between Max and Everly. I have to admit that I was more interested in reading about Ben Lockwood. There needs to be a story about him.
This is the first novel I read from Gina Gordon and will be looking out for more of her work. You can follow this author on twitter: @GordonGina
I give Rush 3 out of 5 stars.
I've read the Pushing the Limits series by Kaite McGarry and loved how edgy they were. Her next book Nowhere But Here is coming out soon and I cannot wait to read it.
Check out the book trailer for NOWHERE BUT HERE. The first book in the Thunder Road series will be released on May 26, 2015.
Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she's curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns into an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.
Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They're the good guys. They protect people. They're…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member—is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.
No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.
I received this ARC of Rock & Release by Riley Edgewood from Victory Editing through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
A night with too much alcohol and irresistible guitarist Gage Logan leads Cassidy Evans to throw away an internship over the summer and work at the VIP bar in a concert venue where Gage works. Cassidy wants to have a fun filled summer with no strings attached. When rock star Luca James pops into the picture and shows an interest in her she gets more than she bargained for. Will she go for the guy who is taking over her heart or the no strings attached fling which is exactly what she was looking for?
What can I say about Cage? He captured my heart with his sexy words, gorgeous body and tender heart. I understood Cassidy’s unwillingness to commit, with her fear of losing someone again but sometimes I just wanted to shake some sense into her. I don’t fault her for contemplating being with Luca since he was persistent and not to mention hot. Though it surprised me to find Luca wasn't who I though he was. I had high hopes which were shattered.
Riley Edgewood did an amazing job of making these characters feel real. She drew me into this story and kept me interested through the end. I will definitely look to read more from this author.
I give Rock & Release 4 out of 5 stars.
I received this ARC of Clash: Legal Affairs Book 1 by Sawyer Bennett in exchange for an honest review.
Cal’s last relationship ended because his girlfriend wanted to pursue her career goals but despite that he still wants to settle down and start a family even without being in a relationship. He has a successful business with his best friend Mac, and is slowly regaining his old friendship with Mac’s husband. The last person he ever thought he would get involved with is Mac’s best friend Macy who he’s constantly bickering with.
Macy is still using the comfort of men who she meets in One Night Only. She never sees the same man twice but when an unpredictably encounter with Cal arises; she doesn't mind repeating it.
I really like Cal and how he doesn’t back down from Macys’ insults. Though it’s clear they do it to get a rise from each other instead of being malicious. The sex between these too is dirty yet sexy. There is a lot of underlining issues with Macy which I’m curious to find out. Will Cal break down those walls that Macy has built? Will she ultimately become the kind of person that Cal would be willing to settle down with?
I started reading this short story knowing there were 2 more installments but I was still disappointed when it ended, but maybe that’s part of the allure, since I can’t wait to read the next part.
I give Clash 4 out of 5 stars.
I received this ARC of The Duff by Kody Keplinger from Hachette Children's Books through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Bianca is the complete opposite of her two best friends. She doesn't question her friendship until Wesley Rush calls her “The Duff” of the group. When he explains that it means Designated Ugly Fat friend, Bianca gets furious and throws a drink in his face. She then begins to question her friendship and finds a way to deal with her problems with the help of Wesley.
When I first read the synopsis I was expecting a different story than what I read. I was thinking this was going to be another novel of the girl who gets picked on and then has a makeover but it was so much more. I really enjoyed how Bianca’s relationship with Wesley progressed.
Bianca has so much going on that she seeks a release and finds that with Wesley. They begin a relationship which starts off meaningless and purely physical but as they confide in each other and discover that they keep each other grounded, feelings quickly become involved. I really loved Wesley and his cocky attitude. Bianca is a hard character to describe because she was trying to find herself.
Overall great read. I give The Duff 4 out of 5 stars.
I received this ARC of Just a Little Flirt by Renita Pizzitola from Random House Publishing Group – Loveswept through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Fallon is the girl with a not so stellar reputation when it comes to guys. When she gets the opportunity to work with pediatric patients in an internship and a chance for a paid position she makes it her mission to steer clear of any relationships that can cause her problems. Can Fallon resist temptation when she crosses paths with Cade Ryan, therapy dog handler, the hottest guy she has ever seen? Will she resist or give in?
Renita Pizzitola created characters with great chemistry in this novel. I liked Fallon and all her short comings which made her character that much more likable. Cade was an amazing and compassionate character. I liked how he was willing not to fault Fallon on her insecurities and how patient he was. I was surprisingly pleased with Cade being such a sweet guy but as soon he and Fallon were intimate the words that came out of his mouth were dirty and sexy. It made those scenes really steamy and hot. There were also many side characters that I would love reading their story, especially one of Sean.
A superb read with unforgettable characters. I give Just a Little Flirt 4 out of 5 stars.
Coming March 31, 2015!
I received this ARC of How to Reprimand Your Rock Star by Mina Vaughn from Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Thea is a freshman basketball player at UConn. She has a lot to prove if she wants to succeed on the team. Yet a distraction arises in the form of rock star Keaton Lowe which she meets in the girls’ locker room. Will Thea be able to concentrate on basketball or will her new found activities with Keaton get in the way.
When I first started reading this novel I thought it was going to be a typical romance story of the rock star falling for the normal girl but it was so much more. It was about a young women being open to her basic desires and not being afraid to explore what she wanted. The direction of the sex scenes was a very hot surprise. I however felt that the story line fell flat toward the end. I’m always looking for plot lines that keep me guessing and I found the end predictable.
I give How to Reprimand Your Rock Star 3 out of 5 stars.
I received this ARC of College Bound by Lilia Ford from Liliaford Romance LLC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is an erotic novel which is intended for adult readers.
Natalie finds herself homeless after leaving the home of her stepbrother. When her bad choices leave her with a reputation and no family to go to, she finds herself sleeping in the convenience store where she works. The only thing she has control over is her grades which earn her acceptance into her top choice colleges. Now her problem is how to pay for tuition. Suddenly Gareth Boyd, an old family friend, comes into her life and offers to pay for college and anything she needs but only if she aggress to his proposal.
The storyline was an interesting concept but I felt like I was missing a lot of critical information. I also felt like there wasn’t enough time for the characters to develop true emotions. I would have liked to know more about their conversations before the proposal was brought up. How it stands now it seems like the characters relationship was more of a physical obsession rather than having developed true feelings for one another.
I give College Bound 3 out of 5 stars.
Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite authors. She has a way of dragging you into this fictional world that grips you and won’t let go. Her books leave you enthralled with the characters even after the book is finished. I would strongly suggest if you haven’t read anything by Colleen Hoover to start with any of her amazing works. Also look out for her upcoming releases, one of which will be available tomorrow.

I received this ARC of My Best Everything by Sarah Tomp from Little, Brown Books for Young Readers through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Lulu Mendez has just been told that her dream of moving out to California for college is no more. Her parents can’t afford to pay her tuition but that doesn’t stop Lulu from coming up with a plan, an illegal one, but a plan nonetheless. Lulu wants to make and sell moonshine but she needs the expertise of Mason, a local boy who has a dark past, but is he willing to help.
The ingredients for moonshine are ordinary. Innocent.
Corn. Sugar. Yeast. Heat and Time.
They could be the makings for something simple and forgettable. Like corn bread, bland and boring without butter and honey.
But the same ingredients, thrown together in a particular way, lead to dangerous results.
You say it was all meant to be…
There’s a fine line between toxic and intoxicating.

I still enjoyed reading this novel and have read almost all of Sawyer Bennett’s work which says something about her writing. I look forward to reading her next novel.
I give Alex (A Cold Fury Novel) 3 out of 5 stars.
After I posted the If I Stay movie review, I thought to myself - people need to know about the next novel. So if you don't want spoilers, don't read the following description on the sequel. Where She Went is written in Adam's point of view, which makes it even better than the first novel. It's an amazing read, a must!
I devour books in days and dabble at being a writer.
